Under The Dome: Season 3, Episode 6

Previously On Under The Dome

Big Jim & Julia have a unlikely partnership as we see them both team up on Bird Island and try and take some valuable information off Aktaion, but it all backs fire on them both when Julia gets caught trying to steal back the camera Jim once had.

When Dr. Marston have them both in his head quarters with a gun pointed towards himself, he is forced to tell them about the egg and what it is capable of, explaining who ever touches it first will be the controller and who ever touches it afterwards, will be controlled.

Hunter goes to find Norrie and Joe, seeing them both fitting some solar panels on top of a roof and tells them to come down as Christine wants them both to come back to the town hall. The two of them don't want to go and Hunter is forced to make a forceful decision, grabbing Norrie by the wrist and falling off the roof when Norrie resits going with him.

Hunter gets back to the town hall with major injuries and is unable to move his bottom half of his body. Junior is angry with Norrie & Joe, telling them both they both need to be punished as the towns people block them inside the building from escaping.

Barbie and Pete were manipulated against each other by Christine and resulted in Pete attacking Barbie while he was meeting Eva. Barbie and Pete begin to fight with one another, with Barbie killing Pete with a huge plank of wood that Pete brought to the fight.

Episode 6 - Caged

Julia's Back In Town

With Christine out of the way and locked up on Bird Island, it's a good time for Julia to come back to town and see what she can find. Julia heads to the town hall seeing a gathering of the towns people, whistling in sequence as she walks into the building with them all looking at her before turning back around. Julia asks one of them what they were doing, "The beds are finished, were waiting for Christine the go ahead to move in." Julia then leaves the crowed of people to go up stairs to Christine's office.

Once again Julia is "Snooping" around Christine's office, looking around the room and drawers to eventually finding something that is worth examining. She finds a piece of paper with some weird looking drawings on it, a circle with 7 narrow strands coming from the middle of it, with 7 different deformed shapes on the ends. After looking at the picture, Julia can see that the book case has some moved marks in the dust, telling her that the books have been moved and initially telling her to go and look. When she is looking around the bookcase for clue, she finds a device behind that needs a password, but before she can pick a password to type in, Junior, Barbie & Eva are about to enter the room.

Now that Barbie has left Eva & Junior in Christine's office, Julia is hiding in one of the side rooms where she can over hear Eva & Junior talk about "How far this town has come" and that "most people have completed their journey and Barbie is so close." Junior begins to ask Eva what will they do if Hunter's injuries are permanent and Eva replies with "We will have to put him down," for being a burden on the "Kinship" of the town.

This women is determined to find out the truth and i love it! It's making the whole season more enjoyable to watch and more intense as each episode goes on.  It's like she's becoming the main lead character of the series now, carrying the weight of Chester's Mill on her shoulders as she's doing most of the work on her own, even though she had Big Jim at times, but even that didn't last long.

Also, what could be on that device she found behind the bookcase? Another voice recorder? It did look a bit different from the other one that she previously found, but i guess we will find out sooner or later. I'm also thinking if Julia will go and save Hunter if he is actually paralysed, stopping Eva from killing him since he is being brainwashed. Deep down somewhere inside Hunter is the old Hunter,  he's just very vulnerable to Christine's power like the rest of the people are.

Always Cover Your Own Ass

Big Jim now has a new cell mate when the Aktaion soldiers bring in Christine and dump her in the cage next to him. The two talk towards each other in a civil manner but they both know they don't like each other. Christine starts tormenting Jim, asking him when he last felt fulfilled with himself and talking about how everyone could all get along with each other, but Christine's people will defend themselves if its necessary. "What's the point of having you in here with me?" Christine asks Jim and he looks at her as if was about to answer, one of the Aktaion guards roles in  a smoke grenade in their cages which puts them both to sleep.

Jim finds himself waking up with Dr. Marston above him, telling him that he wasn't doing such a good job in gathering information from Christine. Jim tells the Dr that he needs leverage with Christine and picks up a tune can, "This will do" explaining he will pick the lock with the metal key that pulls open the can. Dr. Marston punches Jim as he expects him to be on the same side as Christine and throws him back in the cage next to her. She eventually wakes up with some wounds on the side of her hip and notices that Jim has been punched, while seeing him getting the metal from the tuna can and begins to pick the lock with it.

"Take me with you" Christine says to Jim as he tries to open the cages doors of Aktaion, with Christine trying to flirt her way out of the caged situation. "We can take it from here" says the Dr as he enters the room, unlocking Jim's cage and Jim tells her "Only one rule, cover your own ass," but before he thinks he's being set free, guns are going off outside. Jim goes to walk out of the cage but  Dr. Marston tells him he has to stay, "You know, only if we met in that bar Doc" and Jim slices the Dr's throat open with the tuna can lid he was trying to pick lock the door with earlier and bleeds to death, collapsing on the floor. He leaves Christine in the cage when Barbie and Junior come from the raging gunfire from outside to rescue her, unlocking the birdcage she has been trapped in for a few days.

Well once again Jim escapes from the Aktaion compound and this time the others know of the facility where they have been hiding out and capture Christine. The security guards must have the worse aim ever, since they all got shot by two men who only had pistols and the guards had automatic machine guns. It all seemed a bit to easy saving Christine and i was hoping more of a epic gun fight in the process. i also feel like the producers some times cut corners to rush into the main story of the episode.

After last episode when the Dr told Jim he was going to be experimented on with Christine's powers, i thought that this episode was going to show us Jim getting tortured by her powers and maybe see some more scientific research on the two of them. Another corner skipped, where we could of seen some interesting scenes for the episode and i thought the whole bringing down and killing the Aktaion people came a little to fast if you ask me.

Sam Rescued From Love

After finding his new girlfriend dead who shared the same love for alcohol as Sam, he finds the prescription pills she killed herself with and has his suspicions straight away when he see's someone else's name on it. He kisses her on the head saying "I'm sorry" and leaves to go to the town hall, realising when he gets there, the strange in-sync whistling from the people of Chester's Mill. He once again looks at the prescription pills before Eva spots him and asks for a helping hand with something, leading him to Hunter's bedroom where he lies with his injuries.

He see's Joe helping Junior out with the X-ray machine and gets denied by Joe when he offers his help, seeing Hunter lie in his bed motionless. When the rest of the people leave the room, leaving himself, Hunter and Eva to work the machine, he notices a bottle of prescription pills on the side table to Hunter. Sam asks where she got them from and Eva explains that Christine handed them out when she asked everyone to handover their medication. Sam takes in the information and works the X-ray machine for Hunter's injuries, telling him that he will never walk again.

"I was just thinking about you" Christine says to Sam as he enters her office, hiding away her piece of paper with her drawings on it. Sam begins to talk about how he sobered up and that he saw into his future if he kept on the same path he was on. He tells Christine he went to Abby's house and found her dead and apologises for straying away from her. "You did it for me didn't you? Abby couldn't of got the pills and she already tried killing herself, but i saved her...But this time i was to late...But you saved me" Sam says to her, who looks anxious. Christine believes in his gratefulness and hugs him, saying "It had to be done" confirming she made Abby kill herself and Sam stabs her in the side of the torso.

From the beginning scene where he found out the prescription pills and the different labelled name on it, you just knew there and then he was going to go on a mission of his own and find out who gave Abby the pills. Who wouldn't right? At first i thought he was contemplating on killing himself with the same pills he just found, but i'm glad he never. The most weird thing about the scene is, when he walks in to the town hall and hears everyone whistling the same tune, but never questioned anyone about it. What's all that about then? That's just freaky if you ask me!

Sam's apology and gratefulness to Christine almost have me convinced, util he jabbed her in the side of the body, letting her bleed out. He storms out the room before Junior discovers her, but my question is, where will he go now? & what will he do next? Knowing the producers, they will have him give up or kill himself to skip corners to rush in to the next plot of the story, which i hope they don't. I do hope they bring Sam into the series a bit more, because he has the most baggage out of everyone and he would be an interesting character to follow, making the series more exciting to watch.

Hand Cuffed To A Pipe

As punishment for letting the "Kinship" down, Joe is carrying the solar panels for the town hall on his own, while the people gathering around to watch him struggle. Julia who just arrived moments ago can see Joe struggling, arguing with Junior when the solar panels fall over and she steps in when things gets heated between the two. "You don't have the right to punish anyone" she says to Junior and walks away with Joe, but automatically stopped by the people surrounding them and gets herself knocked out from behind by Junior.

At the foot of the window stands Junior, waiting for Julia to wake up from being knocked out be him. When she finally wakes up, she kicks him in the groin and attempts to run out the door, but someone's already guarding the door and stops her from escaping. The only thing Junior can do is tie her up to the pipe attached to the wall and gag her, until Christine arrives back, telling Julia that she will know what to do with her.

Julia as always, gets herself into a pickle again, but that's what i like about her, she's brave and ballsy. Only this time i think she's in more trouble as we see her already get hit, out of no where, resulting her to get knocked out by Junior. There was also a cut scene where she seen Barbie & Eva kiss outside while she was trying to scream for help, but couldn't due to her gagged mouth, and then Eva goes to the room to torment Julia about it. How horrible would that be? Watching someone you love kiss someone else while being tied up and helpless, to be tormented about it afterwards with out saying anything about it. I really do hope Julia gives her a good slap in the remaining episodes to come.

Power Couple To The Rescue

As one of the guards is watching Julia as security, Norrie and Joe make up a plan to come round the corner of the hallway and pretend that Norrie has been seriously injured. When they call the security guy over for the help of the "Kinship", Joe tells him to grab her legs to help lift her up, but as soon as he goes to pick her up, Norrie knees him in the face while Joe knocks him cold out with a mean punch. The two of them drag his body into the room and tie him up, then untying Julia from the pipe attached to the wall. "You two are unbelievable" Julia says, as she's very happy to see them, telling them both they need to go save Hunter because Eva is going to kill him, because of his injuries.

Eva is about to put Hunter to sleep until Joe slaps the needle out of Hunters arm and Norrie tackling her to the ground, "Stop i want this" Hunter yells desperately, with Joe confused on what he's saying and Norrie's still fighting Eva on the floor. The two fighting girls on the floor, go to reach for the same needle and Norrie grabs Eva by the head, slamming her against the wall twice until she's unconscious. Joe gets a wheel chair, "Let get him the hell out of here" he tells Norrie, who gets off the ground from her brawl and drags Hunter out of bed.

The only real action, intense scene we've seen all episode isn't it? I don'y have any problems with that because i like how the  people who aren't effected by Christine have a small group and they're picking their fights off one by one. I think for the remaining episodes, the group will eventually get bigger and bigger and maybe hide out from Christine until they gather enough people to fight against her, i think that would be awesome anyway. If they hide out with Hunter he could possible help them...Even though he cant walk...Can't he?

My next prediction for the three of them is that Norrie and Joe will take Hunter down to the caves, putting him inside the cocoons, so hopefully they can repair his injuries and become his normal self.  When Sam stabbed Christine, Junior took her to the caves for the same reason and we still yet have to find out if she dies or gets healed. I also think that Sam will meet up with the three of them, where Joe has to forgive or get along with each other and think of the people of Chester's Mill.

Conclusion

We can kind of see what could possibly happen for Under The Dome, but at the same time the producers haven't given any major leads to make us believe on what could happen next. In this episode they played it out in a perfect mysterious way, as it should be and making the cliff hangers to obvious on what to come for the next episode.

Sam Stabbing Christine could hide out and form an alliance with one of the none effected, since he is now on the run. Also if Christine is healed from the cocoons from the tunnels, i think it would be a great story for Norrie and Joe to take Hunter down so he can be healed, after the intense battle to save him and including Julia.

As for Julia, she's still doing her thing roaming from place to place and i think every can agree that her story is the most interesting and has more action  scenes as we see her try and save everyone on her own. I think she believes in herself to much, which makes her get into sticky situations at times and that's what i love about her character so far.

Overall the episode was a good one this week and i'm hoping to see Barbie come into action a bit more and sway away from Eva, making her angry and doing what ever Christine tells her to do. Also i'm hoping for the producers not to get to lazy and pick more action/intense scenes where there should of been.

Insurgent

Summary

Tris, Four and her remaining allies are on the run from the ruthless Jean Mathews, and her Erudite faction, where they are hiding at the Amity stronghold. While they are there, Tris has learned that the Erudite have gained power and must fight against them, facing her inner fears and decide what to do to protect their home.

Salvation

Tris and her friends who are on the run from Erudite, have been given another chance to over stay their welcome at the Amity compound, after a fight broke out between herself & Peter. After a while in hide out, the 3 of them and including Tris's brother Caleb, have been found at the Amity stronghold by Jeanie's Erudite army. Peter who is hiding with Beatrice(Tris), Four and Caleb, gives away their position by shouting "There up here!" and the 3 of them climb out of a window and jump on top of two Erudite officers, taking their guns away from them, while Peter surrenders to the Erudite army. Tris, Four & Caleb are all on foot and running through the wooded area, while the Erudite people chase them down, shooting at them as soon as they get in to the open field. The three of them run as fast as they can through the open field and hop on board a moving train, escaping the gunmen who are still shooting at them.

Once inside the fast moving train, they all think its over and are safe from the Erudite army, but they have boarded a train full of Factionless. Factionless are a rebels who don't take part in any any of the social classes they have been assigned to, such as Abnegation, Erudite, Dauntless, Amity & Candor. The Factionless rebels decide they want them off the train and the three of them try to negotiate with them, but nothing will stop the Factionless from fighting them off the train. Tris, Four & Caleb all get attacked by the rebels and begin to fight within the train, with Caleb trying to run away he gets in to a fight himself and protects himself with a iron bar. Tris and four on the other hand are fighting, until Four stops the fight and tells them "Tobias Eaton."

I must admit, i didn't really like the first movie "Divergent" because i thought it was unoriginal and had poor choice of actors to play the characters, but from the beginning of this film, it had my attention straight away as we see some action from the start. I was a little disappointed in Peter when he purposely told the Erudite's where Tris, Four and Caleb were. If i was one of the three characters in that situation, i would of punched him there and then, what a back stabber! At the time they were getting chased in to a open field, i thought "How are they going to get away?" but of course, a on coming train is on time to save the day, how unoriginal, but probably very necessary.

I thought it was to good to be true and to easy of them to get away like that and so income the Factionless rebels to ruin the day. I liked this part of the scene because it spiced things up and didn't make it to easy for the three of them to get away. At first i thought they was going to capture them and hand them over to Jeanie for some kind of reward, but no...they had a intense fight on the moving train. The fight scene was pretty standard and not to dramatic to watch, plus it was a good way to have Four show his true identity to the Factionless, including Tris who didn't know who Tobias Eaton was.

Four Has A Mother

The 3 of them follow the rebel gang to the Factionless compound which is underground and with a load of armed weapons, as if they're preparing themselves for war. They follow the rebels further in to their compound and stop to see a women who says "Tobias," With Four replying "Mother." Later that night, the four of them including Four's mother are having dinner around a table and its a very awkward dinner as no one is eating or talking, until Tris asks what is going on. Four's mother explains how she faked her own death to get away from Four's abusive father, saying that she tried to reconnect with him a year ago. Four only thinks that she tried to reconnect with him is because she wants to create an army, to stop Jeanie from killing and creating a prison between the four factions by the dividing walls, that separates them from one another.

The next morning the three of them go to leave the Factionless compound to go find the rest of Dauntless people who are in hiding, "I'm not going with you" says Caleb to Tris and Four who are walking in front of him, about to leave the compound. Caleb explains to them that he has no reason to follow them to find the rest of the Dauntless people, that he's "not cut out" for this type of thing since he is he Erudite, he doesn't believe in conflict, but the power of knowledge. "Maybe i should go back to Abnegation" he says, "There's nothing left at Abnegation" Tris replies, watching her brother walk back in to the Factionless compound.

I did not expect that! Did you? Well i guess you die hard Divergent fans did, the one's who have read the books. For the rest of us movies nerds, i'm expecting most of us didn't expect that what so ever, plus we find out she was supposed to be dead. Imagine going to an unknown place to find out that your own mother is alive and!...She wants to create an army to kill Jeanie. That is messed up and mind blowing all at once, talk about feeling used. You could tell that Tris wanted to stay there, when she herd his mother admit to wanting to kill Jeanie and stop the dysfunctional factions that she think is the reason for all the violence.

When Caleb decides to stay at the Factionless compound, i thought he was going to stay there and further on in the movie, he was going to be trained and become all tough, so he can fight along side Tris and Four. That wasn't the case at all, but i won't say anything yet, because it will ruin the movie!

Truth Serum

Tris and Four arrive at the Candor compound where the Dauntless people have been hiding and ask how many Dauntless they have, "175" the Dauntless women tells Four, but as soon as they further on their conversation they are surrounded and outgunned by the Candor security. The two of them surrender and put their guns on the floor, taking them to the leader of the compound Jack Kang. He tells them that they have criminal record on their heads and he his oblige to hand them over to the council, "You might as well kill us now, if Jeanine finds us we're not going to live to stand trial" Tris tells Mr Kang and disagree's with Tris as he doesn't think that Jeanine would do such a thing and orders the guards to take them away. As soon as they get taken away, Four asks Mr Kang if he thinks it would be more fair to stand trial in his compound rather than Jeanine's Erudite compound since he's the leader of Candor, "The honest" faction.

The two of them are set to have a trial in the Candor chambers and injected with Truth Serum, a needle that inject them both and makes them tell the truth, and if they resist from telling the truth, they will feel pain throughout their entire body. They inject Four first and he begins to tell his side of the story on how they are innocent and didn't kill anyone, that he couldn't leave the city because he fell in-love with Tris. Tris is surprised on what he had sad and steps up to take trial next, she didn't want to do the truth serum because she didn't want people know about her parents dying and killing one of her friends friend, after he tried to attacking her. She struggles in pain as she tries to avoid telling the truth and eventually it all comes out, showing the Candor & Dauntless people she is innocent.

I'm still confused why dauntless are in hiding...Did i miss something from the last movie? Anyway, i loved this part because before the two arrive at the compound, one of Tris's first friends greet her and ask her where Will is, but Tris lies and says she doesn't know and she does know because Tris killed him. Tris didn't want to do the Truth Serum because she didn't want her friend finding out that she killer her friend and lied about it straight to her face. If i was Tris i wouldn't want to do it either! Her friend shouldn't be mad for killing him as she was only trying to defend herself, instead she should be mad for lying to her about it.

"Take my money now!" is what i would say if Truth Serum was an actual thing, imagine if that stuff was real though. I would use it on all my friends and people just so i can find out all their secrets (Evil laugh). I wouldn't really but i do think it would be funny to use on someone as a practical joke or it could be useful like it was on the movie. We could actually use it in the court of law and find out if the criminal is innocent or not, it would be evolutional.

Flushing Tris Out

The Erudite army have found Tris once again as they come zip-lining in from the rooftop of the skyscraper buildings and shoot at Tris, Tris is trapped in a stairwell full of screaming people and they all get shot one by one, including Tris and collapses on the stairs. She soon wakes up and notices a metal baring stuck inside on the surface of her shoulder and see's everyone else unconscious on the floor. She gets up and goes to the armory to get some weapons, but as she tries getting some weapons she gets caught by the leader of the Erudite army Eric. They handcuff all the ones that are awake from being shot, as it separates the Divergent's from the others and test to see what percentage of Divergent they all are. Eric kills the ones that aren't 100% divergent and incomes Four, armed with the rest of the Dauntless and Candor people. Four goes to fight Eric and takes him down, pointing a gun to him "Iv'e learnt to live with the blood on my hands, can you?" Eric asks and Four gives him a long stare before shooting him in the head.

After waking up and witnessing what Janine is capable of doing, Four takes the Dauntless and Candor people to the Factionless compound, to team up and build a stronger army against Jeanine. Tris is sitting in the main hall of the Factionless compound and hears screaming coming from the people, yelling towards the 3 people on top of a ledge overhanging the main hall. "The traitor, Tris Prior must be surrender to Erudite or every day, more deaths will follow" the 3 people chant to the crowed of people below them, walking closer and closer to the open edge of the hall. Tris and one of the Dauntless people run up the ladders and stairs, to try and stop the three people trying to kill themselves. Tris and the other women grab two of the 3 people, with the other one walking off the ledge, killing herself instantly.

I was impressed by the way the Erudite separated the Divergent people with a device that puts the other factions to sleep, while it doesn't effect the Divergent's, making them easier targets to find among the other people. It was a highly entertaining scene as we see a load of Erudite people swing, abseil and zip-line in from the top of the tall buildings outside, but also a bit stupid on how many bullets missed Tris. I'm also glad they put an end to Eric because he was starting to annoy me with his presence every time i seen him on the TV.

You witness the people see how Janine acts out to Divergent people, making the realise that it must stop and so they unite with the Factionless people and make a plan to attack her. Sounds so easy and straight forward doesn't it? Well it was smart of the produces to come up with a distraction and obstacles for the people when 3 of the people were made to kill themselves. When they got shot before with the metal baring's still intact inside of their skin, Janine can use the metal baring's as a transmitter and control the people to kill themselves, but if they try and take out the baring, then they will die. This just got a lot more interesting, i was thinking on how the hell is a metal baring going to kill someone and they actually show us that they attach to the nearest artery, ripping it if it is disconnected from the body. Smart!

A Message Beyond The Walls

The pressure had gotten to Tris as she wants the killing and suicides to stop, so she decides to surrender herself to Janine, but in the process in surrendering she finds out that Four has been captured and her brother Caleb, now works for Janine. Janine wanted all Divergent's people, so she could unlock a box with a hidden message inside and to open it up, the Divergent's must go through a sequence of tests of the factions. Since Tris is 100% Divergent, she will have the best chance to pass them all, unlocking the mysterious box. Tris will face a numerous of obstacles in the sim, where she will have to face her deepest fears, saving her dead mother, confronting herself belief and many other obstacles. When Tris is on her last test, she is faced by confronting Janine, to all of a sudden falling from a skyscraper and dying as soon as she hits the floor inside the simulator.

Tris wakes up from the dead after Four has been shown her dead body and Peter gives him a signal to take out the security guards that have him prisoner. Four takes Tris to the simulator as soon as he takes out the guards, so Tris can try and complete the simulator. She plugs herself back in and begins the test once again, but this time its different as she has to fight herself in the simulator as her deepest fear is herself. The two identical Tris's fight it out on top other building roof, while she is being confronted by her simulated version of her self, saying that"no one will miss you" & "Forgive you," but Tris says "But i will." The Simulated version of Tris runs towards her and smashes to pieces, as Tris forgives herself and for refusing to fight against it anymore.

Everything around Tris is smashed to pieces, including the simulator version of herself and all the buildings around her. The only two things that are left behind is herself and the box that contains a message inside of it, floating towards her and opening at the same time. A hologram emerges in front of Tris and it's a women, a women that is telling Tris that there are people living beyond the walls, that the city and the different Factions was created for peace and to experiment, so they could recover the humanity that is lost.  The women continues with the message and tells them all that Divergent's are vital to humanities survival, telling them to rejoin them who are beyond the wall.

This was the best part of the movie for me because the FX was amazing and it kind of reminded me of Inception a bit, how the buildings would break into small pieces when ever Tris would tackle the simulated version of herself and then the pieces would float around the sky, it was very dynamic. It was very smart how they used a simulated version of Tris, representing the grief and anger she held against herself, to finally forgiving the the feelings she had towards herself and completing the simulator, showing the message towards the end.

While Janine watches the message along with all the other people, she tells the guards to kill them and bury the box so no one else can find it, but as soon as she orders the kill, the other factions come in to rescue them and put Janine in prison. What does the next two movies have install for us do you think? now that they're all going across the border to see the people beyond the wall. I think that the person who sent the message, is also bad or even worse than Janine and their might be some conflict with Four's mother and her, that's my theory.

Conclusion

Insurgent didn't lack any depth like the first movie did for me, i was truly bored watching the first part of the series and thought that the sequel was going to be the same or even worse in-fact. I was completely wrong, because i was very interested in the story of the movie and it had me glued to the screen at all times. I did think that the actors of the movie are still a poor choice for the characters of the story and i'm trying to ignore my judgment, so i can enjoy the rest of the series for the future to come.

Overall i did enjoy it and i think i would watch it again sometime, the film is perfect for teenagers and i think the die hard Divergent fans would also love it too, even though some of you might of read the books, so don't judge it to soon like i did.

Under The Dome: Season 3, Episode 5

Previously On Under The Dome

Joe finds out about Norrie and hunter when the two were kissing down by the lake, Joe interrupts them both as they were kissing each other and both of them were embarrassed and shocked to see Joe. Joe storms off after he tells Norrie its over, leaving them both to do what every they want.

On the other side of the lake, on the remote island is Big Jim and he's spying on Junior with his binoculars, where Junior has set up camp. Big Jim can see Junior speaking to Christine and Jim doesn't like them two together. As Big Jim is watching them both talk to each other, two men ambush Jim from behind, hitting him till he falls to the ground and capturing him.

Jim wakes up in a research lab, tied to a wooden chair as he notices when he looks around the room. Jim can see two quarantined people dressed up in protective clothing and preparing to inject Jim with a needle. Jim puts up a fight but doesn't last long as the two people get the better of him and jab him with the needle.

Julia is now the only one in Chester's Mill that can see through Christine and so she goes "Snooping" around in Christine's office and finds a voice recorder in one of her desk drawers. Christine spots Julia and asks her what she's doing, while Julia back fires the questions towards Christine and the conversation gets heated between the two.

Back at the research lab where Big Jim is captured he knows one of the security guards and he starts beating on Jim, to make him tell him where the egg is. Jim gives up and pretends to know where it is, so he unties him from the chair and the two fight it out till Jim takes him hostage to try get out of the research facility. Jim escapes from the lab after they shot their own security guard and runs around the remote island which he is now trapped on.

After intense couple of days between Norrie, Hunter & Joe, Norrie starts to feel her normal self again as she speaking to Joe in his bedroom bunker and the two start to kiss each other like they have missed each other. On the other side of town Julia is waiting for Barbie to return home and when he does, he doesn't seem his usual self and angers out towards Julia.

After Julia witnessing Barbie have his anger episode back at the motel room, Julia decides to be a lone wolf and cross the other side of the lake to find Jim. When she gets there, she has Jim at gun point and Jim starts to explain that he got captured by the same people Christine works for. Julia shoots the man that is behind Jim and both of them run away.

Episode 5 - Alaska

Jim & Julia Team Up

Big Jim and his new dog are waiting patiently, as they wait for an explosion to happen near where the research lab is. Jim is looking through his binoculars saying "One more step," while he watches a man get closer where he wants him to be and an explosion occurs right in front of him. The explosion brings out the security guards that are inside the research facility, which is also part of the plan as Julia is also waiting patiently in the bushes and gets ready to sneak inside when the guards go to investigate the explosion.

Julia sneaks in through the front door and wonders around until she finds the camera Big Jim stole off Eva. She plugs in the camera into a computer and finds out it does't have the video on it, that Big Jim told Julia about. Since Julia can't retrace the video, she then searches the computer and comes across a file named 'Alaska' and downloads it on to the camera. When she waits for the file to download, Julia is held at gun point by the research facility boss Dr. Marston. "Put your hands up" he says to Julia and at the same time Jim comes in and points his gun back at Dr. Marston, "put the gun down" Jim shouts.

Now that they have Dr. Marston in their custody, Jim asks where the camera is and the Dr tells him that it got damaged when they tried to download the video. The Dr goes to prove it by showing them the remaining bit of evidence that is left on the camera and it's all ruined with parts of the video missing. Dr. Marston asks where the egg is and Jim doesn't tell him but gives him the option to give them more details on whats going on and Jim will tell them where the egg is. When the two agree on the terms, Julia asks about "Alaska," the file she was downloading before she pointed with a gun.

What an unlikely partnership this is, but i'm liking it so far because you don't know what to expect with Big Jim or Julia as they both don't trust each other, well Julia doesn't trust Jim more like. However i did expect them to come up with a master plan like we see in the episode, but i'm wondering why Jim let Julia go inside the facility to do all the dirty work, while Jim waits there to talk with his dog. Surely the man should be doing all the action work and sneak inside the facility, but i guess it says a lot about his character.

I thought it was going to be to obvious though when we see Julia get caught in the process of getting the video back for Jim, i think that's why Julia was sent in and not Jim, because if Jim went in, the situation and the outcome might of been a lot different. For example, Dr. Marston would of had more of a reason to shoot or injure Jim and the scene could of played out so much differently, with the story being more difficult to carry on from there.

Alaska

Dr. Marston explains about the "Alaska" and tells Julia and Jim, who are still holding him at gun point and explains to them that a team of explorers found fragments of a egg inside a crater. Every time the explorers touched the a shards of egg, it gave off an electrical spark and further test of the egg gave off strong heat signatures and readings. The egg was a different kind of energy, clean and none radioactive, making the explorers think they could achieve greatness with this new energy supply coming from the egg. Which meant more efficient energy for humanity, no more power plants and no more radioactive energy.

The explorers who are still researching the egg discovered who every touched it, would get infected by it, which then altered the explores characteristics and behavior. All four of the explorers went on top of the roof together and jumped off one by one, committing suicide. "When their leader walked off that roof, the assistants followed him" Dr. Marston tells them both, he then explains to them that they found organism cells inside the explorers that has never been discovered in any human being before. "What ever the leader does, the group will follow" he tells them bluntly and with a gun still pointing towards him.

This to me was the most interesting and valuable scene of the episode, because it shown us how the egg really works and what it can make people do. It tells us that who ever touches the egg first has the power to control the other people who have also touched the egg. So if i touched the egg and my dog touched the egg, i could control my dog to finally sit, as i was the one to touch the egg first and the dog was controlled as he touched it after me. Make sense?

My theory is that Christine knew about getting caught eventually or stopped at sometime, so Christine would have to find a weak person and turn them on to her side so she can have someone else to trusts and control the egg with her. That person would be Junior as you see the two get down and funky with each other and kiss. Also showing Junior the in's and out's on how the power works when the two are down in the tunnels together. What's your theory?

Norrie Pushed Me

Norrie and Joe are on top of a house roof, fitting in solar panels for the people who live there and gets stumbled upon by Hunter, who is standing at the bottom of the ladder. "Joe..Norrie...Christine wants you back in town hall, pronto" shouts Hunter as he looks up at them both, but they tell him that they're taking the day to fit in some solar panels. Hunter then climbs the ladder and tells them they have to come back to town with him and Norrie still refuses and sits down. Hunter who is now angered by Norrie's actions walks across the roof and grabs Norrie by the wrist, while Norrie pulls back to refuses to go any where with him, Hunter loses his grip on her wrist and falls off the roof on to the concrete floor.

They stretch off Hunter to the town hall to be checked out and to see if he has any bad injuries, but as soon as Barbie checks if he's injured, Hunter wakes up in a shock and can't move his legs or feet. Junior asks what happened on the roof and Hunter explains he went to get grab Norrie off the ground and lies about Norrie pushing him off the roof, resulting in the injuries he now has. "You're responsible for this, there needs to be consequences" Junior tells Norrie in a demanding voice and with the rest of the towns people circling Joe and Norrie, trapping and stopping them both from getting out of the town hall.

I honestly thought this was the most tense scene of the whole series by far, because as Hunter was becoming more possessed by Christine's power, he became more possessive on giving orders to Joe and Norrie. I thought this made him more of a unpredictable character and more tense to watch as you can see the look in his eyes become more angrily and focused the rules that Christine had ordered him to do. Also why the hell did Joe invite him on top of the roof in the first place? Hunter, only a couple of days ago was kissing his girlfriend.

If i was in the exact same position i would of done the same thing as Norrie and sit down to refuse to go any where with Hunter. When he first fell i though he was dead but then he came to wake up in the town hall to blame Norrie for pushing him. OK!... Hold up a second, how can someone forcefully push someone else while they're sitting down? She must be very strong to push a fully grown man while she is sat down.

The Fight That Never Ended Well

When the roof collapses inside the town hall, where Junior was working and positive that it wouldn't fall down, injures and kills some of the towns people who were still inside. Pete who wanted to work inside the town hall, blames Christine for the horrific event that just happened as they move the injured and dead bodies from under the ruble. Pete and Barbie work together to try and fix the damaged roof and find common ground with one another after they both find out they both served in the armed forces, making Barbie take Pete's side and backing him up against Christine.

Christine finds out that the two of them are getting along with each other, more than Christine expected, which now puts her in a desperate position. Christine who has no choice to pay them both a visit each and manipulate them both to turn against each other by lying to Pete that Barbie is going to kill him because he found out that he was the one who was responsible for the roof collapsing, making Pete think twice, puts him on edge with Christine's lies.

Barbie who ia now with Eva are walking back to the town hall so Eva can check on Hunter who is badly injured, and as soon as they both run back towards the town hall they both get hit with an explosion, that splits them apart, throwing them against the ground. Pete comes out from the distance with a plank of wood and starts to beat Barbie up with it and Barbie defends himself, trying to fight Pete back. When the two of them are lying on the ground injured from fighting, Pete hits Eva as she tells him that he will never have her over Barbie and this makes Barbie very angry to see Eva get hurt. Barbie who now has a the plank of wood in his hands, beats Pete none stop with it and kills him him.

I'm a bit confused on this scene because i wasn't sure if Pete did actually cut the wood beams, having a reason to blame Christine for her last actions she had against him. I thought that Christine cut the beams so Barbie would find them, resulting in him thinking it's Pete idea and he would initially go to Christine, cancelling her out of the situation and give her the opportunity to plant in Barbies head to "Take care of him" as Christine puts it.

This scene really frustrated me because i wanted Pete and Barbie to get a long and go against Christine, but Christine had to get her own way and stir things up and lie to them both, so they would turn against each other. The fight scene itself was pretty entertaining but very brutal at the same time when we see Barbie go full rage attack and hit Pete none stop with the plank of wood. The noises each time he hit Pete was gruesome and made me think of the type of injuries he was inflicting towards Pete, who is now dead.

Jim Becomes A Guinea Pig

Julia is successful as she captures Christine at gun point and drives to the lake, where two guards pick Christine up for the research facility, where she will get tested for a vaccinated cure. Dr. Marston gets told they have Christine in their custody and sticks to his deal with Big Jim's freedom outside of the dome. Dr. Marston leads the way to where Jim thinks is the place to get outside of the dome, but Jim once again gets ambushed by one of the guards from behind and pushed in to a cell cage, locking the door behind him as soon as he goes flying inside the prison. "What is this?" shouts Jim, Dr. Marston sarcastically tells him it a bird cage and Jim tells him that he's not infected.

Jim who is looking at Dr. Marston for answers turns around to a sound of a dog weeping, and its Jim dog. One of the guards comes in from another room, carrying Jim's dog in both arms and gets blackmailed by putting a knife to the dogs throat. "Wait! Wait!" Jim shouts to the Dr and tells them that the egg is at the town hall and Christine has it, but Dr. Marston knows Jim is lying and tells the guard to take the dog in to the other room and slaughter it. "Alright, it smashed...I broke it, its broken...It's smashed...Give me my dog back" Jim tells the Dr and opens the cage to give Jim his dog back. Dr. Marston explains to Jim that he's part of an experiment, "Christine is the experiment & you are the controlled" he explains.

Finally Christine has gotten captured and took away from Chester's Mill, i think...As Christine basically tells Julia that it's not over, the worst is still yet to come and she's to late. What could that even mean? I think it means that what ever she had planned for the town has already begun, because we see all the towns people act all different when we see Joe and Norrie get trapped by everyone as they tried to escape the building. Also maybe Christine now has them all under her power and can now control them all. it actually makes sense if you think about it, who ever touched the egg first can control them as Dr. Marston explained, but Christine said to Junior "You're like me now" meaning he could also control the towns peoples even when Christine is gone, making two controllers of the egg.

As for Big Jim getting tricked in to thinking he was about to leave the dome, i couldn't help feel sorry for the guy because he trusted the Dr's word and followed him in to the room, to only get captured in a bird cage. I also cringed as he put the knife to the dogs throat because i thought he was going to kill Jim's dog right in in front of him and make him watch it. At least we now know why Jim is there, he's going to be a lab rat and see if he can be controlled by Christine's power, maybe to find a cure for it or maybe to take away Christine's power for themselves. Who knows?

Conclusion

I think overall this episode was action packed and gave us valuable information about the egg and how its works, making us think about what Christine is trying to do. Also the episode gives you a chance to come up with scenarios of your own and think what is actually going to happen next, now she is part of Dr. Marston's experiment.

I also found some of the scenes boring and showed to much of the same scene, such as the town hall rood collapsing. I know it was a major event of the episode but they played and dragged it out to much, showing the same thing over and over again but with different scenarios and character conversations.

If i could sum this episode with one word it would be "useful" or "Valuable" because it gave us useful knowledge we can now use for the coming episodes and have a better understanding of the story plot of Under The Dome. Overall i enjoyed the episode and was entertaining to watch throughout.

Under The Dome: Season 3, Episode 4

Previously on Under The Dome

Episode 3 it shows us Christine and Eva discussing about the egg and their journey on how they came across the egg, putting the two automatically inside of the dome and plugged in to the virtual world. Eva can't believe how real it felt and it makes her truly upset because Eva and Barbie was supposed to have a baby together, but all of that wasn't real.
After Eva's little episode back with Christine,  Christine goes back down in to the tunnels to speak to Melanie without any of the town people knowing their situation with each other. Christine tells Melanie, if Julia comes back down in to the tunnels, Melanie should kill her.

As the virtual world changed everyone dramatically, it changed Junior the most as he had a life of his own that he loved and where he became his own man, with out being over shadowed by his abusive father. Junior hit rock bottom and starts to contemplating on killing himself because all that he wanted was a complete lie and his father is still alive to greet Junior with a slap to the face as we see in the last episode.
It also changed Norrie for the worst as she also had a good life in the virtual world as a sorority sister and had the hots for Hunter, while Joe had his suspicions of them both he actually didn't find out the truth about them almost kissing each other in the fake world they lived a year in.

Barbie has been having one of the toughest times in the dome so far because he thought Julia was dead and grieved over a year for her, only to be brought back to reality to find out that she's still alive. Now that they seem to be happy together, Barbie's old girlfriend from the virtual world shows up in the flesh, as Barbie thought she wasn't real or ever going to see her again and this put Julia and Barbie in a awkward situation.

The biggest mystery of the show Melanie, found Julia at the tunnels and begins to strangle Julia as Christine told her to kill her if she attempted going back down into the tunnels. In the process of killing Julia, Melanie gets stabbed in the back by Christine, which kills Melanie and makes her look like one of the good guys in-front of Barbie & Julia.

Episode 4 - The Kinship

Joe Finds Out

After a hard couple of days with the virtual world and Norrie changing her personality with in the space of 2 days, Joe finally finds out the truth about Norrie and Hunter. The two of them are at the lake with Hunter having a swim and telling Norrie to get in the water with him, but Norrie isn't having any of it sits there saying "God i can't believe we stayed up all night, i'm not even tired." The episode before shown the towns people gathered together like zombies and started to stare up towards the moon.

Their both talking about the unusual event that happened the night before and cant explain why they were all just standing there, looking at the moon. They come to realise that they don't really care on why it happened but how they now feel and so the two of them start to kiss each other near the lake. When they start to kiss each other they are surprised by Joe as he spots them both and tells Norrie that he was out all night looking for her, that he knew something was up and so he ends it there and then between them both.

This was bound to happen, Joe finding out about Norrie and Hunter, but will they last together? If they do end up to be together, it would be so awkward for Joe because he got a new girlfriend and dumped with in the space of two weeks and he will be trapped in the dome together with the new obnoxious couple, that's if they stay together that is.

Also i think with the whole staring at the moon situation, it makes them become people who they wanted to be in a different life and it makes them change in reality, making Hunter and Norrie act differently including the people of Chester's Mill.

Big Jim Gets Caught

Big Jim moved from Chester's Mill town to a remote island across the lake because he knows the truth about Christine and Eva, from the video footage showing them both finding the egg. Jim moved so that the people of Chester's Mill will come running back to him as he will be in the right or he's just waiting for the worst to blow over like a coward. In the process of moving, Julia spots him and confronts him but she doesn't believe a word what he says to her, so Julia just takes it on board and walks away.

Now that hes living over the other side of the lake and set up camp there, he is using binoculars to spy on Junior, who has also set up camp but on the other side of the lake. While spying on his own son who is now speaking to Christine, he still has his suspicions and keeps questioning the unknown, like "who is she?" & "What are they doing here?" When big Jim has finished looking through his spyglass, he gets a unwelcome surprise as 2 masked men come from behind Jim and attack him on the ground until he is unconscious.

Big Jim wakes up from the horrible events that just happened, but wakes up tied up to a wooden chair. Jim looks around the room to see two quarantined people, dressed in all white and preparing to inject Jim with something, as they pick up a needle and walk towards him. Jim is asking them "What are they doing?" but none of them respond to him and Jim's next response is to kick one of the quarantined people in the chest, but he can't do anything else as the other one is holding Jim down as the other one gets from off the ground and sticks a needle in his arm.

Wait...A...Minute! How did these people even get inside of the dome? Dug a tunnel? I highly doubt it, unless they have or found another egg which allowed them to access their way inside of the dome. They must know something that the town doesn't, either that or why would they be quarantined in a scientific research lab?

It had to be Big Jim to get caught by the researchers wouldn't it or it wouldn't be as entertaining to watch and no one else would put up a fight, i know Barbie would of but he has his 2 girlfriends on the other side of the lake to worry about and i think Jim is the only reliable character for this scene. What are they researching though? If i had to guess, i think they know something about Christine and the egg or they're working for Christine and the egg, that's the only thing i can come up with that makes sense in this situation.

Julia Has Her Suspicions

Julia is the only person accept from Jim to not be effected by the virtual cocoons that everyone has been living in. When Julia and Barbie find each other again, Julia knows that Barbie isn't the same person as she used to know, as Barbie had another love life in the virtual world and she is jealous and suspicious of Christine and Eva, because she thinks they might be the ones to blame for all the unusual characteristics in the towns people.

Christine and Julia are talking in the town hall, but Christine leaves Julia to take Norrie & Hunter to see Junior at the dorm building. Julia is left alone and see's Christine's office door open and goes inside to have a snoop around. Julia opens one of the drawers of Christine's desk and finds a voice recorder, but before Julia could press play on the recorder, Christine comes in and spots Julia snooping around her office, holding her recorder. Christine tells Julia that its notes of her and her clients on the recorder and hands it back over to Christine.

Julia has something else to show to Christine and pulls out of her pocket a I.D badge that she found at the tunnel exit, with Christine explaining that it was her old university badge from when she used to teach, Julia doesn't believe her and keeps the I.D badge as Christine goes to grab it from her. The two of them start a heated conversation about Barbie an Eva and how they were together the night before, letting her know of Barbies whereabouts as she stayed up all night waiting for him.

Things are getting tense between these two as we see a lot of friction and awkward scenes with the two characters. If i was Julia i would of just pressed play there and then, so i actually knew the truth and her plans for Chester's Mill, but to be fair Christine did cover up her tracks pretty well with the whole confidentiality story of her clients.

You could also tell that Christine was getting under Julia's skin as she brought up the topic of Barbie and Eva and letting her know on purpose of his whereabouts, Christine pretended go know that Julia knew about Barbie and Eva. Talk about passive aggressive!

Old Buddy Malick

"Old Buddy Malick" Jim says towards him sarcastically since Jim went to Malick who was outside of the dome at the time, to make a deal to tell him where the egg was for the freedom of him and his family to get out of the dome, but Malick didn't follow through with the plan and left Jim angry and disappointed. Malick is now sat down in-front of Jim asking where the egg is and punches Jim a couple of times out of frustration because Jim won't give him any information.

Malick shows Jim a tool bag with the tools Malick will torture Jim with if he doesn't tell him anything abut the egg, but Jim tells him he knows where it is as soon as he puts a knife in his face. Jim agrees to take Malick and his boss to the egg, so Malick cuts the ankle and wrist bands that had Jim attached to the wooden chair and Jim punches Malick as soon as he cuts the last band around his wrist and kicks him to the ground. The two of them fight it out until Jim gets the better of him and holds him hostage with a knife to his throat.

Jim tried to bargain with the superior of the research lab, but he has his guard shoot Malick from Jim's arms so time isn't wasted any further and asks where the egg is. Jim says "You need me" and runs out the back door, leaving the two men who don't care about him fleeing because they think he wont get far as he's on a remote island with no weapons of his own.

I think Big Jim regrets going to the remote island by him self now, do you? at least he's slowly finding out the truth and seeing what the towns people can't see. Maybe he will be the unlikely hero of the series again and save the people of Chester's Mill, because hes the only one who's finding out useful information, well Julia kind of knows but she's not quite there yet. I think it would be cool though if Julia and Joe help to save the brainwashed people as they disappear from the community and sneak around the town while they save certain people to figure out and make a plan for the more important missions, like stopping Christine and getting out of the dome.

Norrie Is Her Old Self Again

Hunter takes Norrie to a storage room where he has some blankets laid down for her, lit some candles and found a bar of chocolate for Norrie to eat. Hunter goes to kiss Norrie as she says "Thanks you" because shes been having a rough day because Joe found out about them both, but Norrie does't kiss him back and goes to storm out of the room because she thinks Hunter only wants to "Screw" her (Her words, not mine) and leaves him alone in the storage room.

Norrie is now waiting for Joe in his bunker where she can speak to him and Joe arrives but isn't pleased to see her, as he says "What are you doing here?" in a angry toned voice. She tells Joe that what they did was "Really crappy" and she's "sorry," Joe Replies with "Whatever" as he starts to bed down for the night. Norrie can tell that something is wrong with him and he explains that he went to meet Sam to forgive him, but he didn't show up.

Norrie's face becomes angry as he explains to her about forgiving the person who killed Joe's sister only two weeks ago, "Why should you forgive him?! He Killed Angie" she yells at Joe. Joe sits up from his bed as he seems to be inspired and passionate on how passionate Norrie hates Sam and how she hates everyone else she tells Joe. "Why are you smiling?" says Norrie, "Because this is you, you're back" replies Joe with a huge smile on his face and the two kiss each other passionately.

Finally her stupid fling with Hunter is over! I hated how he acted like he was a big shot all of a sudden with Norrie, when really he's a computer nerd. I'm glad that Norrie and Joe are back to their usual self's as they were a god team together and how they were the brains of the town,  figuring out the mysteries and puzzles of the unknowing dome.

For Hunter, i do hope he changes as i don't like his new persona and i liked his more nerdy, computer geeks side because he was more of a help to the town, like Norrie and Joe are. Maybe he will turn back to normal when they figure out how to stop them all from being brainwashed and forgive Hunter and his creepy ways he had with Norrie.

Julia Makes It Even With Jim

Julia s back at the motel room waiting for Barbie to come back from his day out with Eva, his other girlfriend he had in the virtual world. When he arrives at the motel room he doesn't seem himself and distancing himself away from Julia, but Julia confronts him and Barbie gets angry to the point he punches the wall behind Julia, which frightens her to death and tells Barbie that she doesn't know whats gotten into him or who this person is.

Julia is packing her stuff on to a rowing boat and checking her gun is loaded, and rows her self on to the other side of the lake where Big Jim is residing. Big Jim who escaped from the research lab is now being chased through the island swamp with the gunmen not far behind him. Big Jim stops in his tracks as Julia is pointing a gun towards him and so Jim explains that hes been captured by the same people who Christine works for. Julia looks at him, contemplating weather to believe him or not, and she shoots her gun at the man behind Jim who was about to shoot him and off they run in to the dark night.

I loved this part of the episode as we see Julia make her mind up weather to stay in Chester's Mill and endure it with Barbie, but that was always going to go Barbie's way, with the brainwashed Barbie thinking hes still in love with his other girlfriend Eva. I was totally shocked when Barbie burst out angrily towards Julia, how could he do that to her? I hope she teams up well with Big Jim to save the people of Chester's Mill.

I also loved how bad ass Julia was in that last ending scene when she turns up on the island to save Big Jim. It was so tense and thrilling when she was trying to make her mind up weather to believe him or not, to eventually shooting the gunmen behind Jim. Does this mean the two unlikely people are going to team up now? I hope so!

Conclusion

This has to be the most action packed, thrilling episode of the season so far with Big Jim getting captured to fighting his way out of the research facility he was kept at, the tense and awkward scenes between Hunter, Norrie and Joe. Also Barbie's outburst towards Julia, which pushed her away to take matters in to her own hands to rescue Jim. Plus through out the episode Julia finds out the truth about the I.D badge and its company Christine works for who captured Jim on the island, this makes things more interesting with the story and future episodes.

There were a lot of unnecessary time wasting scenes they added in the episodes like the tent catching fire for no reason, which lead Barbie and Eva meeting each other again. When Barbie is about to fall of the cattle feeder, where he could of just jumped down since it wasn't high enough to injure himself, and so Eva goes up to rescue him. Another time wasting scene is where Sam finds the women trying to hang herself and he rescues her, i can see how it can make a good story in future episodes with Sam starting to drink again but it was just a boring scene to watch if i'm honest.

Overall it was one of my favourite episodes so far and i hope you guys enjoyed it also.
