Scream: Season 1, Episode 4

Previously On Scream

Emma finds out that her mother doesn't think that Rachael's death was a suicide and it may have been a murder, because her body might have been moved from the original murder scene. After finds out, Emma goes to Rachael's wake and tells Audrey about what she found out and the two of them knew that already.

Jake and Will are having some money issues, when Jake goes to find the hidden money that they hid in the woods and someone else has took it. Will tells Jake that he took the money and put it somewhere safe, with the two of them going to collect it in the night time darkness of the woods to only find out they're both are lying to each other.

Emma finds out her mothers darkest secrets and finds out that she's Daisy, the legendary Daisy from the Brandon James stories. Emma confronts her about her secrets but she won't tell Emma any more information and open up to her.

The killer makes Emma choose between Brooke and Riley on which one to save and which one to do, but Emma choose'd one without knowing what she done, resulting in Riley being the next victim to the Killer.

Episode 4 - Aftermath

The killer Is Dead

The Mayor of Lakewood is holding a town meeting to ensure the residents about the murderer and Sheriff Hudson takes the mic to explain their current situation and knowings. Sheriff Hudson shares with the people of Lakewood, that the killer was Nina's boyfriend Tyler. After making a cunning plan to meet Tyler in the woods, the cops get tricked as the person who went to meet them wasn't Tyler, but a random person that was holding a message for them as we seen in the last episode. The Sheriff then tells them that "The security footage shows that her assailant was wearing the same mask as the person who killed Nina Patterson, and that mask was found in the wreckage of Tyler's car."

After the towns hall meeting, Sheriff Hudson pays Maggie a visit at the autopsy to see if the body they found in the wreckage was in-fact Tyler. Sheriff asks her if she can confirm if it is Tyler, but Maggie tells him that "The hands are to burnt to pull prints," and she started a DNA panel and they also take time to see the full results. "Wouldn't dental records be faster?" asks the Sheriff and Maggie tells him if she had something to compare them to. Maggie tells the Sheriff that the investigation team have been looking through the wreckage all night and can't seem to find Tyler's severed head.

So i guess the show must end now they have caught the killer, i mean whats the point in carrying on the show if the main plot of the series is revolved around the killer. You know i'm joking and the police must be stupid to think that the killer was Tyler, it was to easy to find and place blame on the nearest suspected killer of the show, when in-fact he was the first person to get killed by the murderer. At this point in time watching this scene, i was thinking to myself that Tyler's head is going to get revealed and discovered by someone, once Maggie told the Sheriff about not finding it. Did everyone else think that?

Special Delivery

Work is over and Emma has just arrived home with a postal package waiting for her as she walks to her bedroom to open the package up. with Emma having know idea who it's off or what it is,she opens it and see's a book with "CW, 1994" on the front of it and opens it up to see a memorial page of the Brandon James victims. Emma realises she's looking at her mothers school year book and when she flips through the year books pages, she can see some of the people in the year book have been cut out, seeing her dads face has been scribbled out in pen and with a message waiting to be read. "The truth lies where the mask was made."
Credit to MTV
With a confused message on her mind, Emma decides to visit Noah at work and he's with his best friend Audrey. Noah is drinking as he grieving the worst over the death of Riley, but Emma has something for him to take his mind of things for a couple of minutes. Emma shows him the year book she got in the post and he quickly tells her that the missing pictures in the book were Brandon James's victims, that her dad was the only survivor of the killings. Noah explains why and where the masks was made, telling them that they have to go the hospital where the Brandon James masks was first made. Emma and Audrey agree to go to the hospital together, without Noah and being prepared for the worst.
Credit to MTV
This scene was clever, how they got one small detail of the scene (the year book) to connect one of the biggest missing puzzles "Where the mask was made." This is a great opportunity for Emma & Audrey to go investigate on their own and where anything could happen to them. The missing pictures in the year book got me confused, was the pictures cut out when Brandon was on a killing spree back in 1994? Or was they cut out just for Emma to find out some clues of her own? Either way it gave it more mystery to the scene and for the further duration of the episode.

As Noah tells Emma that it couldn't be Tyler because he's dead and it's not like him to send something sentimental like that, bringing up the past of Maggie. I totally agree with him, because 1, we seen Tyler get killed by the killer in the first episode & 2, he probably didn't know anything about the Brandon James murders or anything about Maggie's secrets.

Make Some Extra Cash

"What's the 911?" shouts Jake, who runs up to Will asking the question. Jake tells Will that he got in to Duke university but without a Scholarship, meaning he will have to pay "63 thousand dollars," explaining it might as well be 63 million dollars. Jake looks at him and asks him if he's told his dad yet and giving him a thought to think over, "You know, if you need fast cash for tuition...There is another option, we can finish what Nina & Tyler started." Will's shocked at what Jake has to offer, blackmailing some very important people of Lakewood town to get some unearned money.
Credit to MTV
Will says that there's no more copies of the video, with Jake telling him there might be another copy, "I knew you didn't delete everything!" Will says to Jake. He tells Will that they have another opportunity to make some fast cash and if the guy "barks," then they they walk away from the situation with out any harm done or them getting caught in the process of it all, but if the guy pays, then "Hello Duke."

Aww, hard times for Will as he won't be able to afford his college tuition fee, or will he? Since he is desperate to leave Lakewood town, i think he will be desperate enough to do some blackmail work to get some "Fast cash" and see them both blackmail who ever the video is linked to. That brings up my up my next question, What could possibly be on that video? It must be something bad anyway, to make someone pay loads of money to not show it to anyone.

Through out the episodes so far, Jake seems to be the more dominant one out of him and Will, as he's always coming up with vindictive ideas, where Will has to think twice and question Jake's choices he makes. This also makes me think, will Jake & Will conflict against each other?

Hospital Admission

Emma & Audrey arrive at the abandoned hospital and prepare themselves with a some weapons for protection from the killer, one taser gun and 1 crow bar. The two of them enter the building and wonder around for a while, until they see a trail a blood and begin to follow it, leading to door with a spray-painted image of Brandon James's mask. The two of them enter the room and find a corpse of a dead pig, with its heart ripped out of it. "The hearts gone, my mom got a heart in a box...This is where it's from," Emma tells Audrey. They switch on the lights to the room and notice they're standing in a operation room where they think Dr's tried to fix Brandon's mutilated face.
Credit to MTV
They enter a small side room to the operation room they were just standing and find out that there's more than one Brandon James mask and as soon as they are snooping around the room, somebody else enters the operation room, so the two of them hide. Emma and Audrey jump out on the person and go to attack Noah as he falls down to the ground with a fright. Now there's three of them to look further look inside the dark hospital, entering a room to discover momentum's of the killers victims. The room is also filled with hanging pictures of Emma's face and finds Nina's laptop, switching it on and finding encrypted files on it, named with some very important people of Lakewood town.
Credit to MTV
Emma see's a file with her name on it and says "We must take it to the police", but the other two disagree and want to take it with them so Noah can hack open the encrypted files. The three of them hear something in the building with them and decide to download the files on Audrey's memory card. When they all rush out of the room, Emma finds one of the masks on top of a shelf and decides to pull it off the mannequin's face, only to realise it Tyler's missing head. They all scream to see Tyler's face land on the floor and run out of the hospital, running in to the police who are waiting outside for them.
Credit to MTV
This is probably my favourite scene, because its creepy and thrilling to see the two of them walk through the dark hospital alone and to get intruded upon by Noah, although i thought that was going to happen anyway. When Noah arrived it was like he knew everything about the place as soon as he looked around the room, saying that its where the murderer is staying but then saying its possible it could be staged to look like that way.

I'm also thinking at this point in time that the files on Nina's laptop could contain the video's of what Jake and Will were discussing moments ago. What do you think? The Tyler's head scene was funny in my opinion as we see them all scream in sequence and run out of the hospital.  Imagine seeing that in real life, that would be scary and i think i would end up doing the same thing, scream and run like a girl!

Now that the police knows there's some valuable evidence inside of the hospital, they need to ask themselves why would the murderer keep momentum's of his victims and why he kept Tyler's head? Maybe it was just to make the scene look more believable or the killer wanted to make them all to think that's where he was staying and preparing his killings.

Encrypting The Files

Noah & Audrey sit down at Noah's geeky work shop to open up the laptop, so he can hack open the files that are encrypted on it. Noah begins to open the files but realises that he opens them up to quickly, destroying what ever was inside the files, all accept from one of course. Noah's fingers are typing faster and faster as he tries to unlock the one file that is left on the laptop and it opens up for him. The file opens up in a video file, showing Will and Emma having a steamy moment in a bedroom, with Audrey shouting "Turn it off now!" When Noah tries to turn off the video, the video automatically uploads and he can't stop it from happening, saying the video is uploading to a "List Serve."
Credit to MTV
A cross town, Emma decided to pop into her coffee shop to speak to the podcast speaker Piper Shay. Piper tells Emma that her work is all done and she's going to be leaving Lakewood, since the killer was found and killed in a car crash, that's what she thinks anyway. Emma says "Maybe you shouldn't!" and Piper looks at her very unknowingly and asks what happened at the hospital because the Sheriff won't tell her anything. "If you were me, would you stay or would you go?" asks Piper, "I would stay" Emma replies with an intense look on her face. As the conversation is about to come to an end with Emma & Piper, the whole coffee shop starts ringing as everyone's phones are going off with alerted text messages. Emma eventually looks at her own phone when she receives a text message of her own, showing the video across town of her "First time" as she tells Piper.
Credit to MTV
Oh my god, what did Noah just do? I know he didn't mean to send the video but MY GOD, Emma will be angry as hell with him. I know i would anyway and also was it the same laptop with all the blackmail video's on Jake and Will was talking about earlier? It may well be. If so, why did Will video tape it, unless he knew he was going to get something out of it or maybe Will told Jake about it and Jake put it there to have some leverage on Will, just in-case Will went crying to the police.

I'm 99% sure that it is the same video's they were discussing, because Jake told him they will finish of what Nina & Tyler started and it's on Nina's laptop, which is huge give away. Either way, Nina and Tyler had plans to ruin Emma's life and maybe Will's also, so it was bound to happen and it just means it going give the future episodes a better story for the viewers to watch.

Conclusion

I liked this episode because its been the most unique episode so, as most of the episodes has been revolved around seeing the murderer do his killings and who's going to be next. Within this episode it shows us the anger and determination of the people who are involved the most, to find out for themselves who the killer is or what he wants, now that they think the police can't do they job properly.

We also see in the episode the struggling and vulnerable Brooke, as we see her discover a vote poll someone had made, for people to vote who should be killed next. Brooke is also struggling with not seeing or speaking to her mother, who is traveling and her father tries to comfort her, but he couldn't  because he has some demons of his own.

The overall episode was thrilling, creepy at times and funny, when we see the three of them discover the head of Tyler. I think the video situation Emma now has on her hands, will spice things up for the next episode and secrets of her vindictive friends will come out, showing their true colours.

Scream: Season 1, Episode 3

Previously On Scream

Rachael Murray got killed by the masked murderer when he threw her over her own balcony and strangled her to death with a noose, making everyone think she hung herself because of the viral video, but i guess that was part of the plan.
Jake had some issues with Noah after having his suspicious that he vandalised his jeep that he left in the school car park over night and the very same morning, everyone in school got a text message from the masked murderer, dancing around Nina's pool and her dead body floating behind him. Making sure everyone knows he's wearing the old Brandon James mask.
After her viral video went live and making her life hell in school, Audrey was going to have the shock of her life, as her close friend Rachael got murdered and Audrey finds out, blaming Emma and her friends for everything they have done.

Emma was home alone and her house alarm goes off, telling her the back door is open, so the security phone her house to make sure everything is OK. As the phone call goes on, Emma gets worried and finds out that she's not talking to the person who works for security, but the masked murderer who could be in the house by now and ready to kill Emma, but he's only calling to warn Emma and to let her know about some secrets.

Episode 3 - Wanna Play A Game?

Emma Finds Out & Tells Audrey

Emma goes to meet her mother Margaret at work but stops to listen to her conversation she's having with Sheriff Hudson, Kieran's father. As soon as she goes to walk in the room Emma overhears her mother say "You don't see this kind of trauma" with the Sheriff Hudson applying that someone might of staged her murder and moved her body so it looked like a suicide. He tells Margaret that Rachael's wake is today (ceremony) and they should wait to tell her mother about their suspicions and that he will open a murder investigation the next day. Emma looks shocked as she listens  to the conversation and it only gets more detailed as Emma also finds out her own mother is lying to her to "protect" her and Emma can't believe what she's hearing and so she leaves.
Credit to MTV
The very same day is the day of Rachael's wake and its a good turn out, as there's loads of Rachael's family, friends and even Audrey. Audrey is looking around the roomful of people, talking to one another and so Audrey slowly walks away from the crowd of people, wondering upstairs to Rachael's room. Audrey stands at the side of Rachael's bed as her eyes drifts up towards the fan that is on the ceiling, wondering if its possible to even hang yourself off of it. Emma enters Rachael's bedroom and see's Audrey trying to hang herself from the fan, with Emma pulling her down to safety before it gotten any worse.
Credit to MTV
"Was you just trying to.." Emma starts to say, "No, i was just seeing if it was even possible" Audrey replies. When Audrey is firmly on the ground, Emma tells her that Rachael didn't kill herself and Audrey knew that already in the back of her mind, "Who would want to kill Rachael?" but Emma leaves in a hurry as she doesn't want to answer the question.

Imagine being Emma and hearing a conversation like that, basically finding out that your own mother is someone else and won't share any secrets with you. I would of just entered the room and confronted them both, it probably would of made a better scene to watch instead of seeing Emma hide behind a wall. Also i think i would move out of the house if i found out that someone in my family had a past like Margaret's, with a murdering stalker who won't stop harassing me.

How scary would it be seeing somebody hang themselves as soon as you enter the room?! Even though Audrey wasn't trying to hang herself, but imagine the horror you would go through because that's the first thing you would think of and you would literally try and save them as Emma tried doing. Now that Audrey knows the truth about Rachael i think she will go in full investigation mode and try find out who killed her, maybe get Noah involved as well because he knows all this kid of stuff.

What Bromance?

We see Jake walking from his jeep, with a shovel in his hand and he starts digging up some dirt. He digs and digs until he stumbles upon a metal container and grabs it from the dirt that surrounds it, opens it up and its empty. Jake is angry and says to himself "Son of a B*tch" and chucks the container on the ground. Later that same evening Jake drives to Will's house to tell him about that the money has gone, but Will tells Jake that it isn't gone, that he took the money himself. Will explains to Jake that he took the money out of disrespect to Jake because Will told him to shut down the video and get rid of any further evidence that cold possibly trace back to them both, but Jake never did. Will tells him if he does what he asks, he will consider telling Jake where the money is.
Credit to MTV
Its night time and Will is waiting for Jake to meet him in the woods, because Jake wants the money. Jake arrives and meets Will with a shovel lent against his shoulder, with Will saying "Aren't we waiting for Tyler" and Jake just wants to dig and get his piece of the money. Will thinks that Jake didn't let Tyler know about the plan to dig up the money and there's friction between the two, as none of them trust each other with the money. Jake shortly finds out that Will didn't stash the money nearby and things get heated as Jake tightens his grip around the shovel and Will slyly grips on to the knife he has behind his back.
Credit to MTV
Things are seriously getting heated between Will and Jake, i thought they were suppose to be best friends?  I think it could of been better if one of them got hit, so tensions between the two would of been a little more tense and thrilling to watch them both collide as the season goes on. Plus who gave them the money? Iv'e been wondering for ages or did i just miss something in a previous episode? Who ever gave them the money must be linked to the killer or is the killer as he would want the viral video going live, so they have a reason to go on a killing spree and stir things up in the town of Lakewood.

In the Scream movie, these two characters or same type of characters were the murderers and i think if they were the murderers in the series then it would be to obvious and unoriginal of them to put the same concept within the series. I think the two of them might know the murderer or the murderer knows them and they're being used, so the murderer can cause more mayhem as he uses the viral video and the people involved as targets for their murders.

The confrontation

Emma is patiently waiting for her mother to walk through the door, as she was working late on the Murder victims. "Hey Honey" says Margaret as she walks through the door, exhausted from the night before. Emma is reluctant to say something to her mother but gradually builds up the courage to ask the burning question that is eating her up inside, "Why didn't you tell me you were Daisy?" she finally asks her mother who is wondering around the kitchen, making herself a drink but stops as soon as Emma asks. Margaret explains that it happened a long time ago and she tried putting the past behind her, but Emma is having none of it as she tells her she knows about the heart, someone left her and doesn't believe she is dealing it in the right way.
Credit to MTV
"I'm pretty sure who ever's harassing you, is harassing me" Emma tells her mother, and Emma starts to explain what the killer was saying on the phone to her, that her life is a lie, that her own mother is a liar and a load of awful things to stir things up for Emma's life. The tensions build up between the mother and daughter when Emma keeps confronting her about her past and why the Sheriff is looking for Emma's dad. Margaret is like a closed book because she won't give Emma a reply or any answers to any of her questions and stands there in silence as Emma frustratingly storms out of the house,

The tension just keeps on building higher and higher in this episode, firstly with Will and Jake and now with Emma and Margaret. Nothing could be worse than losing the trust and confidence with a family member, especially one who has a past like Margaret's and who can give you the answers that you need. It's like if your own family member won't tell you the answer you need to know and could possibly save your life in the future, that's how i would think about it anyway. It makes me angry just thinking about this scene, because Emma already knows the truth, so why won't Margaret tell her some more details? She's already getting harassed, only the worse thing could happen is if Emma gets murdered and then Margaret will regret it terribly.

You Choose

The police have set up a trap to catch Tyler, who they think could possibly be the murderer because hes the boyfriend of Nina and he's been missing for a while now. Riley who got the text off Tyler saying "Help me" was the one who set up the meeting place and has a female police officer take her place for safety reasons. The policemen are in position as they wait for Tyler to meet the female officer, who he thinks is Riley. Out come from the distance is a set of head lights coming inside of the woods and the officers get set to jump on Tyler as soon as he reaches the female officer. She takes him down to the floor, while the other officers surround the male who isn't Tyler.
Credit to MTV
"Some guy on the internet, gave me 200 bucks to drive here and said to give this to some girl" says the man flat on his back and surrounded by cops. One of the officers gets out a piece of white folded paper and unfolds it. He see's a stamp picture of the mask of Brandon James, written underneath it saying "NICE TRY," The killer new that it was a trap and and the police officers are frustrated.

Back at the police station Margaret tells Riley & Emma it was a trap and he didn't show up, but Emma notices that Brooke is no longer at the police station and this makes her very concerned about Brooke's safety.  Emma doesn't know that Brooke got a text message from her school teacher Mr Branson, telling her to meet him and Brooke lied to Emma about it, telling her it was a text message from her dad. Margaret & Emma decide to drive around looking for Brooke, but they can't find her as she's in a hotel room waiting for her school teacher to arrive, so Margaret tells Emma she's going to check with the Sheriff and Emma starts texting the killer.
Credit to MTV

Emma is getting worried about her friends, one who she left at the police station by her self and the other who is missing and won't answer her phone. Emma phones up Riley and checks to see if she's OK and safe. As she knows Riley is safe, she knows that Brooke is also alone somewhere and she text's the killer saying "Do NOT hurt Brooke," with a fast reply from the killer "As you wish." Riley who is left alone at the station gets a text message from Tyler, saying come meet me outside and Riley is reluctant to do so but she does anyway and walks out of the police station to meet him.

Wow, the killer is very smart and witty as we see him toy with the police and send a random guy to waste their time, along with a note attached to the decoy telling the police that he knew all this time about their plan to catch him. I can only imagine this would make him more angry and maybe start killing more people. Also now that the killer knew about the plan and now has everyone split up from each other, i'm pretty sure that he's going to kill somebody at this point, by the things he was saying to Emma and making her choose between Riley and Brooke, meaning choose one to save while he kills the other one.

I enjoyed reading the text messages between Emma and the killer because i thought it was a bit different than having a standard phone call and reading the conversation made it more tense. Have you not waited for a text message before or seen "Typing Message..." waiting to read something important? It can be pretty intense. Now imagine how you would feel texting a murderer and seeing "Typing Message..." from the killer...That would be intense and scary to see what he might have to say!

I Can See Our Stars

Riley who just received a message from Tyler, is now outside of the police station and can see Tyler's car parked in the car park, so she goes over to see if he's there. When Riley reaches the car, she text's Tyler to see where he is and gets a reply saying "RIGHT HERE." Riley turns around and see's the killer standing right in front of her and punches her right in the face, resulting her to scream and runs across the car park in to a dead end ally. The killer slowly walks towards her, rattling his knife across the railing, with Riley trying to climb a ladder that is in front of the killer. It's to late as the killer stabs Riley in the rib, in the back and slices the back of her leg as she climbs the ladder.

Riley is stumbling across the roof on top of the police station and collapses on a glass window, which she starts to bash on and screams for  "Help," but the man inside the station can't see or hear her. Her phone starts to ring and so she answers it, it's Noah and Noah can see she is in trouble as she tells him to phone the police and that the killer has gotten her. "I can see our stars" says Riley as she's slowly looses her breath, to suddenly dying on top of the roof, dropping the phone with Noah shouting her name.
Credit to MTV
I did not expect Riley to die so early in the series, i mean she just started dating Noah and i thought something was going to happen between the two of them. I guess it a good way to get Noah angry and maybe make him go after the killer himself, purely out of rage. At this point in time i was thinking that the school teacher could be a good candidate as a suspected killer, because if the killer knows that Brooke and the teacher are in a relationship, then surely the killer knows them both personally or it could actually be the teacher, making us think it isn't him because he will probably say "I wasn't the one who text'd you," to meet him in the hotel room.

Saying that, earlier in the series Jake told Brooke that he knew about the little relationship fling  between Brooke and the teacher and he could be the one who's killing everyone. Since he already knows about Brooke and her secrets.  Plus he had Nina on video tape, telling us he could of killed her and knew everything about her whereabouts. Anddddddd he acts & looks like a plain psychopath, because he put Noah out in to the river, confronted Noah in a aggressive manner at school, spy's on Brooke in class and you know he wanted to hurt Will in the woods.

Back to the scene...The way Riley died was terrible, i mean imagine seeing one of your friends/future girlfriend be in pain to eventually dying with you left on the phone, that's brutal.

Conclusion

I think this has to be my favourite episode so far, because it's the first murder we see that is in the inner circle of the characters of Scream. The murder of Riley will certainly stir some chaos and hear break throughout the next couple of episode and it will be interesting to see how the characters with the loss of Riley, especially Noah as the two were getting close before she died.

My suspicions of the murderer has narrowed down to Mr Branson the school teacher and Jake. Iv'e picked these two purely from this episode, but i might change my mind as the season goes on. Who do you think is is?

The overall episode was great, had a lot of tense moment as we see Emma confront her own mother and begins to text the killer to protect her friends and fails to do so, as she finds Riley when she goes back to the police station. There were some fun scenes too, when we see Riley and Noah go on a second date, but shortly gets interrupted by a text message from "Tyler."

Scream: Season 1, Episode 2

Scream

Previously On Scream

Nina, a popular and not so popular high school teenage girl, was brutally murdered along side with her boyfriend as they both put up a viral video up on to YouTube to make someones life a living hell to gain more popularity. In doing this deed she paid the ultimate price as the murderer came to her mansion to murder her and show the whole school what its like to be the star of  a viral video.

We also see a girl named Emma go through some troubles with her boyfriend as she found out her boyfriend cheated on her with the now murdered girl Nina and Emma gets back at him by kissing the new boy in town Kieran Wilcox, who is very mysterious at the very least.

Emma's mother Margaret AKA Daisy is also having some trouble of her own, as her past nightmares are coming back to haunt her. Margaret was involved with legendary story of Brandon James, who used to stalk Margaret when she was the same age as Emma. Margaret thought it was all over and done with since she saw Brandon James get shot right in front of her but she got a little present to remind her that he still close by.

Episode 2 - Hello, Emma

Hung Up On Love

Rachael Murray is sitting in bed, reading all the mean comments on the viral video of her and Audrey kissing each other in a car. Rachael feels very depressed while she reads the horrible comments and gets a razor blade out of her heart shaped container that sits on her bedside table and cuts herself on her arm, which already has a load of cuts on it. Her Phone goes off while shes about to cut herself any deeper and its Audrey, so she thinks.

Rachael starts speaking normally towards she think is Audrey on the phone but she can't really hear properly because its all muffled and blames it on bad connection. While Rachael speaks to whoever is on the phone with her, she can hear noises coming from inside her closet and she thinks its Audrey playing a practical joke on her by hiding, so Rachael goes to investigate. Since there was no one in the closet, she hears another noise but coming from outside on her balcony and the person says "Go to our favourite spot" which is the balcony of Rachael's house.

There is only a double rocking chair rocking back and forth as soon as Rachael goes outside on to the balcony, so she finally asks the most important question of them all "Audrey, where are you?" It all goes quiet on the other end of the phone and Rachael can see something hanging off her balcony and goes to have a look to see what it is. She slowly pulls up that seems to be a rope, until she gets to the very end of the rope and discovers that it is a noose. The killer jumps out from behind Rachael and wraps the noose around her head and throws her off the balcony, snapping her neck and strangling her to death.

I liked this opening of the episode better than the last episode because it was more tense and thrilling to watch. With the first episode it was obvious that the killer was communicating with Nina but in this scene i could't tell if it was actually Audrey on the phone or the killer and it was very surprising to see her get killed. Some times they will play the whole killer thing obvious to actually turn out not to be the killer and to throw off the audiences perception of the scene and that 's what i liked about the opening to episode 2.

The Brandon James Mask

Will and Jake are in the school car park talking about the viral video and how Jake left his car at the car park over night because he had a drink the night before (So he says!). When Jake walks back to his car, he notices a trail of blood like liquid that leads to his car and when he gets a better view of the side, he see's someone has painted "Doosh" on the side of his car, this makes him furious.

Noah & Audrey are looking at all the pictures, notes and flowers everyone has left Nina at school for her death, while they look and read the grieving notes of Nina's friends, they bump in to a podcast reporter named Piper Shay. Piper is at the school to try get past the "BFF Bull and get a real picture of Nina" meaning she doesn't want to hear the fake stuff most people would say about her because she's dead, she wants to hear the truth about her as a person. Audrey says "She was a stone cold bitch, who got what she deserved".

Jake is shouting and storming through the school grounds trying to find out who ever wrote "Doosh" on his car and he has his suspicions that it was Noah. Noah can see Jake walking his way, so he walks away from the Piper conversation as he looks very anxious when Jake walks up to him. "Was it payback from the lake?" Jake asks Noah, and Noah pretends he doesn't know what hes on about and acts all innocent. Jake tells Noah "If i find out it was you, you are dead!" and Noah replies with "I believe you."

The next scene cuts to Emma speaking to her old friend Audrey as they fell out when Audrey found out it was Emma and her "friends" was the ones who recorded the viral video. They both discuss the viral video and Emma is very sorry but Audrey can't forgive her because Rachael is taking it very badly. When the two are talking at the school lockers together, they get interrupted by a anonymous text message off the murderer, videoing himself at Nina's house with Nina floating in the pool behind him. They both look at the message with shock and look around the school hallway as they notice everyone in school also got the message, Emma says to Audrey "That's the Brandon James mask."

I was wondering what that red stuff Noah rubbed on his head, at first i thought it was blood but that would of been to obvious, but it was red paint as Noah was the one who wrote "Doosh" on the side of Jake's car.

Also who the hell is this new reporter they call Piper Shay? She must be a big deal or a popular reporter. There wasn't much said about her in the scene, accept she was a reporter and trying to find out the truth of Nina. She also vidoe'd Jake threatening Noah for some reason, maybe to try figure out who has the capability to be an aggressive murderer.

The best part of the scene was the anonymous text message everyone got in school of the murderer prancing around the pool to show his accomplishment when he killed Nina. We also know its the mask that Brandon James used when he was on a murdering spree. Telling us its either James Brandon or its a copy cat murderer or hes playing it very smart and trying to throw off the cops to make them believe its James doing all the recent murders.

Audrey Finds Out

After an eventful morning at school with all the vandal paint on the side of Jake's car and the random text message of the murderer, the classmates finally settle down for their first class of the day but the topic of the murderer is still trending around the room. The teacher tells Jake to "focus on his studies and not the latest web buzz." Noah begins to talk about the murderer in to more depth as its his special topic to talk about and so the teacher lets him speak openly as hes curious to what Noah has to say.

"Well...Murders a lonely game, you know? I mean say you're the killer, OK...You sneak into Nina's house...you skulk around and scare her, and then you kill her, Boom! But then what? You take a victory lap around the pool? You just stand there watching the blood spread out in to the water, thinking of crazy guy thoughts...Its the age of Instagram, Tumblr... we need to share the things we do or its like it never happened." - Noah

The teacher tells Riley to switch her phone when she gets a text and starts reading it while Noah is talking about the killer. She explains to the teacher that her friend told her that someone else has died at another school, the school sounds familiar to Audrey because its the same school her friend Rachael goes to and this makes Audrey worried because Rachael isn't answering her text or phone calls.

Audrey storms out of the class room as she looked at her phone all shocked and worried, Emma shortly leaves the classroom to check on Audrey to see whats wrong with her. Audrey explains to Emma that Rachael's mother found Rachael hanging from her ceiling off a fan, Emma looks shocked and about to cry because she thinks its her fault for making Rachael kill herself.

I love the classroom scenes where Noah goes off on a wild talking spree when he explains how the killer would think or act, it gives the audience a better understanding and knowledge of the show. Plus Audrey finds out her friend/Girlfriend has just killed herself but she actually didn't kill herself did she? So why would the killer move the body to some where else? Maybe to throw off the police's investigation of the body or to make Emma and her friends feel bad for themselves as they will think they made her kill herself.

Emma Gets A Phone Call

Emma is home alone since her mother works with the police as a forensic investigator, and is working on the body of Rachael who just hung herself. She's on lying down on the sofa with her phone but all of a sudden the house alarm goes off, This startles Emma from off her sofa and she walks over to her alarm system which is telling her the kitchen door is open. (But who opened it?) She quickly types in her pin code to turn off the loud noise of the alarm and closes the back door, she then gets a phone call from the security of her house to make sure if everything is OK.

The caller asks for her security password and checks if everything is OK, Emma tells the man that she fond the back door unlocked and open. The man on the phone tells her to "Take a deep breath" and that a patrol car is near by to check in on her in a few minutes. Emma wants to go outside because she is scare but the man tells her to stay inside as its more safe for her, so she asks the man to stay on the phone with her till the patrol car gets there.

Emma gets a baseball bat from under her stairs, while the man makes small talk with her about Brandon James and what she was doing home tonight. "What do you like to watch?" the man asks and Emma replies with "Game Of Thrones, Scandal", he then asks if she likes "Horror" but she says that real life is scary enough as she can't get any sleep lately. "You do look tired" says the man, which makes Emma freeze up and asks him what he just said, "You do sound tired" He replies.

Emma has gone all paranoid and can see that one of her windows is open when she see's her curtain flowing in the wind. She goes over to lock the window and the man asks her "The question is, did you just lock me inside the house or out?" Emma threatens him over the phone but he doesn't take her serious and he threatens her back to make sure she carries on with the conversation on the phone. She asks the man what he wants and he says "To show you the truth Emma!"

Wow, that was intense scene for me and Emma! If that was me in her situation i would of been out of that house, even if i had to jump through the open window like superman! The person who ever was on the phone really did mix things up for Emma as he explained to her where she stands and that the people around her are not what she thinks. Emma's mother being Daisy, the girl who got stalked by Brandon James and when Emma finds out, well...things will certainly hit the fan!

Conclusion

A great first opening scene as we see Audrey's friend Rachael get brutally murdered in a horrific way and it was very tense and thrilling to watch. I do hope they carry on with these amazing murderous opening scenes for the rest of the series.

Plus i liked the fact that everyone now knows the masks belonged to Brandon James, they now might all think hes back to murder everyone but that's not the case at all, as we might have a copy cat killer on our hands.

We do see some some scenes where Noah & Riley become closer as they both go on a date in the middle of the football field to look at the stars together. I would of liked to explain their scenes a bit more but i found it wasn't relevant enough, so i hope to see them two get in to sticky situations together as the murderer, murders his way through town.

And finally! the very last scene to the episode was another one of my favourites as we see the lead role Emma get a anonymous phone call, Which had Emma and the audience think who it might of been, It could of been Brandon James or the copy cat killer...

Scream: Season 1, Ep 1

Scream

Summary

What seems to be a innocent prank that ends up as YouTube viral, leads the teenagers of Lakewood as a catalyst of murders that opens up a window to the towns troubled past.

That Drew Barrymore Scene

Do you remember the Drew Barrymore scene from the original first movie, where she was making popcorn and the killer would phone her up and ask her "Whats your favourite scary movie?" To eventually torment her by asking her a bunch of Horror movie related questions and if she gets it wrong her boyfriend would die and if she got it right...Well her boyfriend would die. The killer would tease her on where he would be hiding and after killing her boyfriend out in her backyard, the killer starts to chase down Drew Barrymore and "Gut her like a fish" before hanging her in a tree where her parents would find her.

The opening scene to the adapted Scream TV series is the remake of that scene but with a few changes from the original scene.

Nina & her boyfriend are in his car talking about the YouTube video they did as prank but Nina gets out as she is at her house. Her boyfriend really wants to go in with her since her parents aren't home and Nina doesn't allow him, which makes her home alone. Nina is now getting ready to go in her hot tub but she is interrupted by weird text messages which makes her think that her boyfriend is inside with her playing a prank, so she goes around the house looking for him.

Nina is now in the hot tub and still getting text messages that she think is her boyfriend. She sees one of the lights go off inside the house and asks him if it that was him and she gets a reply making sure that she thinks it's him, but actually not saying it is him. Nina is relaxing in the hot tub and gets a last reply from who ever is sending the text, saying "Heads up" and something splashing in the tub next to her, so she slowly gets a closer look and she realises its her boyfriends beheaded head.

Being terribly frightened of what Nina just witnessed, she runs out of the tub to call 911 on her cell phone but is unable to and she runs around the garden patio doors trying to get inside. As she is trying to get inside, there is a reflection in the window of the killer and he slashes her back, making Nina fall to the ground with blood pouring down her. She then gets up but the killer grabs her from behind to slice her neck wide open and then chucks her in the pool to drain out.

Her parents get home the next morning not knowing what had gone on the night before and walk through the front door, shouting Nina to let her know they're home. The mother goes out back to see a trail of blood that leads to the pool to finally see her daughter lying in a pool of her own blood.

I don't think this scene could of been any better or worse, why? You ask, i'll tell you why. If they played the scene the exact same as the movies original, then it would tell the viewers that its just going to be a TV series that is just copying the movie, also they didn't add to many hidden Easter eggs in the scene to make it seem so familiar to the movie. The very different changes played out  well for the opening scene, but you knew at the same time that they wanted to portray the Drew Barrymore scene with their own uniqueness to killing Nina.

The Legend Of Brandon James

A lonely kid with a deformed face is hidden from society as he spends his days living in the basement of his parents house. Brandon developed a crush on a girl named Daisy and Brandon would spend his day sending love letters and heart carvings to her. He gathered the nerve to talk to Daisy at the Halloween dance at school but Daisy thought he was wearing a normal Halloween masks, until he took it off to show her his deformed face, ending Brandon to get beaten up by a gang of kids that thought he was a monster.

After a lifetime of torment, Brandon ended up killing 5 students before he was done, when there was a manhunt to bring him down at the lake where Daisy agreed to meet him. Brandon hands over his carved heart necklace to Daisy before getting shot in the back and lands in the lake, to never to be seen again.

To this day no one knows what happened to Brandon or who Daisy is...

If Brandon isn't the ghost-face killer i think its very smart to add a 2nd killer in the mix of the story to make things more interesting and entertaining to watch. I hope they keep doing flashbacks to the past, to reveal more clues about Daisy & Brandon.

A Present From Brandon?

Emma Duvall just opened the front door to find a brown paper covered box sitting on the front porch of her house, so she takes it to her mother and asks who Daisy is, but her mother replies "It must be for someone else." Emma leaves to meet her friend who is waiting outside in the car and this gives Margaret AKA Daisy a good time to open the box. Inside the brown box lies a message that says "Emma looks just like you at that age." And Margaret looks inside the box and sees a bloody heart lying inside of it.

Now we know who Daisy is, she is the mother of the main character of the series, Emma. Emma doesn't know about her mothers past but i'm pretty sure that will all spill out eventually.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Remember in the original movie where the teenagers threw a huge party at the end of the movie but everyone was being killed off one by one? Well in this next scene is pretty similar but accept no one dies or finds out who the killer was.

The teenagers of Lakewood throw a house party for the death of Nina, everyone from high school turns up and are having a good time with out being murdered. For a change! Drinks start to flow and conversations get deeper as we see Emma find out that her boyfriend slept with Nina before she got murdered. This makes her very upset and storms off from the conversation and ends up in the green house with new boy in town, Kieran. The two start talking about how Kieran's mother and step dad died and now has to live with his real dad. As Emma feels sorry for him and looks up into his eyes, the two start to kiss each other.

Well she moved on quick!

Emma's friend Brooke was the one to spill the beans about her boyfriend sleeping with Nina and she wanders off to the garage as she can see the light being turned on and off. When she's inside the garage, the lights are all off and she can see one of the car doors is open, so she closes it but she suddenly hears a metal dragging sound as if something was picked up. Brooke begins to run towards the garage door and bumps in to Emma's boyfriend, Will. She tells Will that someone is in the garage with her but he can't see anyone as he turns the lights on. In the process of talking to Brooke, he threatens her to never get in-between him and Emma again or he will break her.

I'm unsure if this was another hidden Easter egg to make us think back to the movie where Sidney's friend gets murdered in the car garage by trying to fit through the dog flap that is on the automatic doors. As she tries to go through the small dog flap, the killer opens up the garage door with her still half way through the flap, to eventually crushing her to death.

Noah is best friends with the girl who had the video prank done to her and the two are at the party. Noah is the movie geek of the series, the same as the character from the movie, Randy Meeks. Noah begins to talk about how the party they are all at would be a good setting for a murder scene and then he starts to slobber his words to fall asleep as he is to drunk.

He finally wakes up half naked in the middle of the lake on a floating boat dock, he screams for help but no one can hear him as he is to far away from the house. Noah decides to get in the water and swim back towards the house party, he is scared doing so because its the same lake where Brandon James got killed by the police. When hes swimming towards the house he feels something pull him down in to the water and he swims faster towards the house to be dragged out by Kieran. He explains to everyone that he felt like he was being pulled under by someone but Emma can see fishing line around his feet, making everyone think it was his imagination playing mind tricks on him.

Was it Brandon James trying to pull him under water? I would of punched who ever put me on the floating dock because you can't be doing things like that! I'm a bad swimmer as it is and i don't want to be swimming when i'm half drunk thanks!

Conclusion

I think people would enjoy the series if they didn't compare it to the movie so much, i mean who wants to watch a series to be exactly the same as the movie? You will know what happens in every scene if it was the same. I think people should give the benefit of the doubt to the TV series to be able to enjoy it, like i did.

I like how they kept the persona of some characters from the movie in the series, but gave them different back stories to make it more original. Overall i liked the first episode of Scream and i am intrigued on how the rest of the series plays out.
