Movies To Watch On 4th Of July

Movies To Watch On 4th Of July

Red Dawn

A small city of Spokane is awakened by a North Korean invasion. Marine veteran Jed Eckert and his younger brother, Matt, escape with a group of friends to a isolated cabin in the woods, where they witness the execution of their on father. The brothers reunite with their friends to form a guerrilla resistance group "The Wolverines," to drive the North Korean invaders away from their home.

Iv'e watched this movie more than once and i think its a little bit underrated as it is very entertaining and action packed with amazing fight scenes and gun fights through out the movie.

As the civil war continues to rage across America,  president Lincoln struggles with continuing carnage on the battlefield as he fights with many of his own cabinet on the decision to emancipate the slaves.

The film is very political and debate-full on many parts of the film but its also a very passionate movie as we see president Lincoln go through some very low points and high points in his life. Also 3 time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis is just amazing in this movie and deserved the Oscar that who won for it.

Inglorious Basterds
A young Jewish women sets out to plot a revenge after she witnessed the slaughter of her family by the Nazi's. She plans to gather a Nazi attendance at the local theater for the premier of a German film she has organised. The event has gathered the attention of the "Basterds," a Jewish-American Guerrilla soliders that will cross paths for a fateful evening that will shake the very annals of history.

Inglorious Basterds isn't the type of movie for the faint hearted as it is very brutal, gruesome and gritty in some scenes, but overall the movie is very enjoyable to watch and humorous in some cases, that's if you have a sick sense of humor like me.

Independence Day
On the 2nd of July, communications systems are sent into the chaos by a strange atmosphere interference. They soon learn that the military that a numerous of huge objects are flying towards planet Earth. They then find out that they are alien life form and try to communicate with them but it goes no where. The aliens plan to attack major points on planet Earth and doing so they kill millions of people in the process and the survivors devise a plan to attack back.

What's 4th of July without watch Independence day? What a legendary movie with a horrific twist in the mix. This movie shows people surviving and overcoming the pressure of a highly threatening attack from out of space.

Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor is a classic tale of romance set during the war that complicates everything. Rafe and Danny become army air corps pilots and meet Evelyn, a navy nurse. Rafe fall head over heels and next thing Danny & Evelyn are hooking up. Rafe volunteers to fight in Britain and Evelyn and Danny get transferred to Pearl Harbor. While Rafe is in Britain fighting, there is a air raid in Pearl Harbor and makes everything go in to chaos mode.

If you like Romance but also love war movies, then this is the perfect movie for you to watch. It's very emotional as we see a lot of aggression between the two friends who both like the same girl and a lot of action bombing scenes on the attack of Pearl Harbor.

The Patriot
After proving himself on the battlefield in the middle of the French & Indian war, Benjamin Martin wants nothing more to do with such things, preferring the simple life of farming. But when his son Gabriel enlists  n the army to defend their new nation, america, against the British, Benjamin returns to his old life to protect his family from British tyranny.

One of the most passionate and sad movies i have ever seen and i have seen a lot of movies, so that's saying something. It's kind of like Braveheart but with a civil war twist to it and played by the same actor, Mel Gibson, and if you know how passionate he was in Braveheart, you should watch him in The Patriot.

American Sniper
Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle's pin point accuracy saves hundreds or even thousands of lives on the battlefield and turns him in to a legend. Back home to his wife and kids after four tours on of duty, however, Chris finds that it is the war he cant leave behind.

Another gritty, eye opening movie that i loved as it reminded me of a modern day version of Enemy At The Gates. Enemy At The Gates was a world war movie about a man who became a hero by being accurate with his sniper rifle gun, but with American Sniper, it tells a true story of a brave man who became a living legend but ended in one of the worst ways possible.

Forrest Gump
"Stupid is as stupid does" is what Forrest Gump hears through his childhood, but not as smart as the people he meets along the way in his life. Forrest is thrown in to some scary, crazy and downright incredible situations , rubbing shoulders with great historical figures, escaping many dangers. His giant heart and never fading love for his lifelong friend Jenny take him on a journey where he learns what his destiny is.

Every time i think of this wonderful movie i always think of the quote "Life is like a box of chocolates, You never know what you're gonna get." It such a simple but very true quote and i love it! Forrest Gump is funny, emotional in all ways, a learning process and a great journey to follow as we see Forrest embark on a weird and wonderful one of his own.

April 1945, as the allies make their final push in the European theatre, a battle- hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy command a Sherman tank and his five men crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered, outgunned and with a rookie soldier  thrust in to their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Fury is sort of like Inglorious Basterds but with huge fighting tanks and a lot more action, and played by the same actor Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt has a line of great actors in his war platoon such as Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena and Jon Bernthal. This is not a movie you want to miss on such a passionate day such as 4th Of July.

Saving Private Ryan
Followed by the Allie invasion of Normandy, two brothers lay dead in the wake on the onslaught. Meanwhile, in New guinea, a third brother has been killed fighting the Japanese. After learning the fourth brother is missing in the French countryside, a rescue mission is in order to find the young soldier and return him home safely.

Saving Private Ryan is one of the most iconic, legendary war films to every grace the movie screens. Tom Hanks plays Captain Miller who leads his men in to battle while trying to find and rescue the fourth brother, Private Ryan. The movie is a epic journey across the battlefield and shows the strength and compassion of men who are desperate to succeed in finding Private Ryan.
